Claritin is for allergy. If you’ve only had nose and throat problems for a week, it is probably something else, like a cold or virus. You could take Claritin D. It is a decongestion and it will open up your head. Tylenol is for pain or fever. If your throat hurts really bad, it might help some. I think there is a Tylenol D also. What you need is something to open your nose and dry up your sinus. The sore throat might be caused by the sinus drainage down the back of your throat. You could also find an over the counter cough syrup with a decongestant and try that. If it persists for several days, you probably need to see a doctor to diagnose it and put you on the right meds.
Claritin does for me. in combination with the generic version of Flonase – fluticasone propionate. I only have occasional difficulties now & never get colds like I use to. But thats me. I had to work with my MD for several yrs before coming to that conclusion.
Conan is also on allergy meds.
