i think clarinex is only an antihistamine, which means it might do very little for the stuffy nose and post-nasal drip. for that you need a true decongestant. sudafed works well. but it also might keep you from sleeping :(

If you took all of this medicine and it is not working, than it is time you see a doctor before you over dose.Maybe their is something else more serious going on than allergies.

Change meds, i have been taking zrytec but Advil Cold and Sinus works better i believe………………change your sleep med too, i take Xanex and Ambein CR 12.5, they help but i still only sleep 5 hrs and if i’m lucky 7 or 8????????????

Me – its not working because it sounds like you have more going on than just antihistamine can do. #1 Switch to Claritin-D. Not only does it have the antihistamine for the sneezing and drip, but it also has a decongestant. #2 Talk to the pharmacist about drug interactions between your sleep meds and other meds. #3 If you haven’t been properly diagnosed by an allergist, get to one right away. Your symptoms are the same as that of a terrible cold. If you have low grade fever, forget the allergies…it is a cold and just take some Aleve Cold & Sinus and wait 10 days. If there is no fever, then you need to be working with an allergist, because your allergies are certainly not under control. Allergy is a chronic condition – a defect in the immune system. You cannot cure allergy, but you can control it. The first step is to be properly tested to determine which allergens are your triggers. Next, armed with this information you can reduce or eliminate your exposure. Once you do this, not only will you need MUCH less meds, you will feel so much better. You will have lots of energy and sleep well at night. Hope this info helps
