if you just started taking it, give it a little while. I remember when I started taking a certain med, all I could stand to eat were jellybeans. then after a while, it went away and I could eat normally. Do tell your doc though..you should always tell your doc when something weird happens.
Celexa side effects
“Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: skin rash or hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have any new or worsening symptoms such as: mood or behavior changes, anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, or if you feel impulsive, irritable, agitated, hostile, aggressive, restless, hyperactive (mentally or physically), more depressed, or have thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself.
Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:
very stiff (rigid) muscles, high fever, sweating, fast or uneven heartbeats, tremors, overactive reflexes;
nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, feeling unsteady, loss of coordination; or
headache, trouble concentrating, memory problems, weakness, confusion, hallucinations, fainting, seizure, shallow breathing or breathing that stops.
Less serious Celexa side effects may include:
drowsiness;
sleep problems (insomnia);
mild nausea, gas, upset stomach;” This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088. – FROM http://WWW.DRUGS.COM
Most doctors are only taught: “antidepressants, therapy, and if resistant, ECT”.
Consider trying them for 3 – 6 months, to see if sufficient; antidepressants will still be there, if required (unlikely) but you have already shown an adverse reaction, so why take the risk?

Talk to your doc about a different med, but I was on this and never had that sort of reaction: I think it’s a separate issue.

I suggest that you check out http://www.drugs.com & http://www.rxlist.com and wean off, in accordance with http://www.theroadback.org/workbook.htm and begin the core treatments below immediately, and the herbal remedies, or OTHER supplements, like SAM-e, 5HTP, or L-phenylalanine, when below 50% weaning dosage.
St. John’s wort, perhaps with low dose 5HTP would be a good combination to try first. Check out: http://www.foodforthebrain.org/content.asp?id_Content=1769
Effective, non medication based treatments for depression, and anxiety are shown at http://your-mental-health.weebly.com/1.html and pages b, and i.
