Sometimes, slowly. There’s not a lot of good research on that. Some of what’s looking good right now is combining a medication called metformin – a very old diabetes medicine with Risperdal to counteract or halt the weight gain.
Some people do lose the weight. Some don’t. Granted, most of the ones who don’t were taking the related drug Zyprexa, which causes far worse weight gain.
