I have 2 prescriptions for Zithromax (1 is a refill) to try and get me over this recurrent tonsillitis I have without surgery. The doctor didn’t tell me there was a specific time needed, so I’m clueless. I was thinking 10 days, but idk anyone know?

  1. Suresh says:

zithromax is an antibiotic, commonly given in 3 days dosage or 5 days dosage…
once u complete the dosage, doctor would wait for 2-3 weeks time to see if u have gotten over the tonsillitis or gor another episode……
most of the time tosillitis is due to allergic conditions, associated with blocked nose mouth breathing etc.. in that case u are given a course of antibiotic to prevent any infection and then put on antiallergic medications for long period of 1-2 months and reviewed..often this works in preventing further recurrence of tonsillitis…
try to keep ur mouth moist… keep sipping 1-2 sip of water every 10-15 min…if u have nose block… treat it as well….

    regards
