I just started taking lexapro a little over a week ago. This is my birthday weekend, and I have some friends wanting to take me out. I’m concerned about drinking alcohol, with the lexapro. Anyone have any experience they can share?

Lexapro/cipralex is bad enough withought adding alcohol to the mix. I have no personal experience but although the pill has been shown not to interact with alchohol doctors still recommend you dont drink excessively.I wouldnt drink more than one glass of beer myself.

It is NOT recommended. Should actually say that on the bottle. If you are not a regular drinker you may not be able to tell if it’s affecting you. So be very very careful.

No, you aren’t supposed to drink while on it.

Now, here’s the reality of what will happen. It will intensify the effects of alcohol. You’ll get way drunk, super fast! And your hangover tomorrow will be unlike any kind of hell you’ve ever experienced.
